Alternative Promotion - The History

Alternative Promotion was born out of the ferry business itself in 1988 its aims to pursue much cheaper ferry travel for British and Continental Competitors in ALL sports. Brian Ashton started the company after doing a similar job for a number of years with Sealink UK LTD as the company's Promotions Officer. He had vast experience of the ferry business having visited every Sealink port and office and ship in his capacity of promotion officer and before that as editor of Sealink News the Sealink Company Staff Magazine. Brian was closley connected with all Sealink Sports Sponsorship in 1980's those included the Sealink International Cycle Race, the BBC Programmes "Driving Force"and "Seaside Special" in addition to major Sealink involvement including truck racing,motorcross,motorcycle racing,trials,caneoing,wild water racing,motorsport,sailing and gliding. Alternative Promotion at its launch, was the country's NO 1 company involved in reduced rate sports travel and remains so today.
