A visit to Brecon mountain railway, One of the most popular railways in Wales with a coffee stop at Cyfartha Castle Museum & Art Gallery at Methyr Tydfil set in 160 Acres of Parkland.

A visit to Coleton Fishacre National Trust with a coffee stop at Buckfast Abbey. Coleton was a favourite haunt of Noel Coward and is a magical south Devon garden set in a secluded coastal valley with its own cove.

Snowdonia trip staying 2 nights at the Royal Victoria Hotel Llanberis and visiting Bodnant National Trust, Port Merion and the summit of Snowdon. This trip is now full but there is a waiting list if the hotel will release more rooms!

A choice visit probaly the prettiest seaside town in Wales or to enjoy the thrills of great rides like Megaphobia, Treetop Coaster, Bobsleigh etc.

The whole idea of these trips is to allow Locking Villagers great days out at resonable cost to meet friends from Banwell, Elborough and Hutton.

2009 sailings to Spain are now available to book. Not only that, but new for 2009 the twice weekly service will operate to Santander from Portsmouth (only 24 hours) as well as Plymouth, offering your customers the quickest routes to Northern Spain.

Armorique Update

The arrival of the new purpose built €120m cruise ferry ‘Armorique’ on the Plymouth-Roscoff route is getting closer, with a launch date of February 2009. The state-of-the-art ship will carry 470 cars and up to 1500 passengers and is a welcome addition to the fleet on a route that established Brittany Ferries some 35 years ago.

2009 witnesses the arrival of a new 120m ship - the M.V Armorique - which is being purpose built for Plymouth - Roscoff. With room for 1,500 passengers and over 500 cars, this new vessel will provide exceptional levels of comfort and style on the route which established Brittany Ferries some 35 years ago.

Ld Lines will be operating a new route from Dover - Dieppe from Jan - Feb 2009 for the full year and will be served by the Cote D'albatre & the Seven Sister ships.

The schedule from Dover - Dieppe will be 17.45 hours sailings Monday to Friday only. Deaprting DIeppe 1pm daily (getting into Dover at 16.15.)

The route will operate with all vehicles types. Presently there will be no foot passengers only access.

From mid March customers will be able to sail from Plymouth - Sanatander , they will also be able to enjoy a weekly service from Portsmouth - Sanatander. Both services will be operated by Brittany Ferries's luxury flag ship Pont Aven.

Starting in spring 2009 Norfolkline will run a service with 3 depatures from each port every week. The vessel will depart from Zeebrugge on a Monday,Wednesday and Friday at 18.00 and from Rosyth in Tuesday,Thursday and Saturday at 17.00 UK time.

As a dynamic organasation, Norfolkline are constantly looking for growth oppertunities. The new vessel is under construction in Italy. This is a modern vessel with lower fuel cosumption and CO2 emissions.

STENALINE NEWS!!!

The Stena Line VT4 Belfast Terminal has now opened.

The state of the art terminal and extensive facilities are situated at the seaward end of the Lough, shortening the crossing between Northern Ireland and Scotland.

VT4 stands on a 31 acre site and includes 2 double freight check in booths, 4 weighbridges and two trailer standage spaces with a capacity for 520 trailers and 154 artics.

All operations for the HSS and the conventional ferry have now been switched over to VT4 with the Caledonia moving from Ballast Quay berth on the 13th July 2008.

EUROTUNNEL UPDATE!!

Eurotunnel are operating a limited service with a restricted timetable of one departure which is one shuttle every 2 hours to a minimum of one shuttle every 90 mins.

LD LINES GRANTED PORT APPROVAL FOR NEW DOVER - BOLOGNE SERVICE IN 2009.

LD Lines has recieved full approval from the Port of Dover for the introduction of its new Dover - Boulogne freight and passenger service in 2009.

Scheduled to start from 1st July 009, the new service will provide four return sailings daily with a crossing time of one hour 45 mins and proposed sailing schedule of:

Freight and tourist traffic including coaches, cars and additionally foot passengers will be carried. The vessel "Norman Spirit" which currently operates on LD Lines Portsmouth - Lehavre service will be replaced on the Western channel and is then expected to be transferred to operate the new Dover - Boulogne route.

The ship capacity for 1850 passenger, 700 cars and 110 freight vehicles.

"We are delighted to have now recieved confirmation from the Port of Dover that our new Dover - Boulogne route has offical approval and we look forward to a very positive , longterm working relationship with the Port Authority, " says LD Lines'Director General Christophe Santoni.

"Our entry into the higly competitive short sea cross channel ferry buisness is a major development for LD Lines. We are convinced the the service will undoubtedly attract new freight and tourist customers, which will benefit both Dover and Boulogne as departure and destination ports".

In the first year of operation the company expects to carry in the region of 120,000 freight vehicles, 133,000 cars and 400,000 passengers.

Bob Goldfield, Chief Executive, Port of Dover said, " The port of Dover welcomes the addiotnal capacity at a time when it is planning a second ferry terminal to meet forecasts in traffic growth."

LD Lines new service will operate to the newest French port terminal for passenger,cars and freight, as the first cross channel ferry compnay to inaugurate the POrt of Bolulogne's new Ro Ro terminal from 1st July 2009.

The construction of Boulogne's new RO RO terminal and the first linkspan began in the second half of 2008 and will be operation by 1st July 2009.

WEATHER UPDATE:

TRANSMANCHE FERRIES

Due to adverse weather conditions forecast for Monday 10th March the following sailings are cancelled:

0500 Dieppe - Newhaven

1000 Newhaven - Dieppe.

Following the annual technical refit of the ship COTE D ALBATRE, there will be no departure at 1800 from 6th March till 13th March included. The departure of 1800 will be available from next March.

Please note that there are major roadworks taking place on the A27 at lewes which are likely to affect your journey. These works are scheduled to continue untill summer 2008. Please therefore allow extra time for your journey to the port.

Foot passengers arriving by train please arrive at Newhaven Town Station and not Newhaven Harbour Station.

Due to operational reasons, Stenaline has had to retime the 1335 hrs Stena Adventurer Superferry departure from Holyhead - Dublin to 1350 hrs, commencing Monday 3rd March. The new arrival time in Dublin port will be 1705 hrs. No other departures or arrival times are affected.

Any reservations you may have had on the 1335 hrs, have been moved to the new departure time at 1350 hrs
